Lynda Sacco knows
the Election issues and challenges facing us, having lived in Brampton Wards 3
& 4 for the past 15 years. She is a
proactive problem-solver who believes in action, not words. When she first arrived in Peel in 2000,
Lynda and her Peel CAS staff worked closely with the Region of Peel and other
agencies to establish Peel Youth Village to address youth homelessness. Lynda has tackled many other issues since
then, while also advocating for adequate funding for social and community
services to meet the needs of children, youth, families, aging adults and those
living in poverty.
Lynda knows
what it takes to be an effective representative at Regional Council – looking
at the big picture of what is happening in the Region, and considering the
needs of a diverse constituency. The
issues are complex and will require strong leadership from a strong City and
Regional Council Team ready to take on the challenges!
A former
teacher with three children in the school system, Lynda was elected as a school
trustee in Scarborough/Agincourt to represent a very diverse and rapidly
changing community. This was an exciting opportunity to acquire
the know-how and inspiration to effectively serve her constituents. Her campaign byline was: “The System Serving the Child.”
